Status of the AirClaim
As some have been asking in our community channels, ‘wen Airclaim?”
As we’ve reported before, the Airclaim launch depends on 3 key factors.
- Finalising the FreeDAO Foundation
- Waiting for regional borders to open up for key account security management.
- Waiting for the Proton wallet 2.0 that was announced by the Proton team back on October 15th.
For item #1, we had a delay, as advise from legal council spotted some potential concerns that meant the Foundation Charter needed some additional tweaks and changes. We are waiting for the changes to get assessed. Fingers crossed on this version being the final one.
With item #2, fortunately the regional borders are opening up on December 15th, and we’ll be pausing production of the Governance dApp to focus on this and ensuring our multi-sig and wallet procedures are setup for deployment.
As for item #3, Proton wallet 2.0 looks to be a likely release in January. We will be re-assessing whether or not we wait for 2.0. Since it is likely to give Android users a consistently good experience, this seems likely. We’ll be keeping the community updated if we decide to launch prior to 2.0’s release.
Again, we will be updating the community at the end of December, on what the status is, and we’ll be announcing any partial movement along the way as well. Keep an eye out for the launch of the FreeDAO Foundation.
We’ve got some exciting news of some partnerships that are looking very likely—of course we’ll announce as soon as these solidify.
